South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Controls Illegal Parking in Setiabudi

Joint personnel from the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency and related agencies again controlled illegal parking in the Setiabudi District area.

We are taking this action firmly

The Operational Controller of the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Ebenezer Lumban Tobing, said that the enforcement was carried out firmly while still prioritizing a persuasive approach to violators.

According to him, illegal parking in the area is a recurring violation, requiring regular monitoring.

"We are taking this action firmly, but remain humane through a persuasive approach because violations like this continue to recur," he said, Friday (7/3).

He added that during the operation, 15 motorcycles were transported using a tow truck, 12 motorcycles underwent valve removal operations (OCP), and one car was towed which was found parked in a prohibited location.

"We issued a sanction in the form of an Inspection Report (BAP) for a ticket to three conventional taxi units which were proven to have parked on the roadside," he added.

Ebenezer hopes that regular enforcement at points prone to illegal parking will reduce traffic congestion and improve order in the use of public facilities.

"We also hope that the area managers will pay attention to the availability of parking space so that there are no violations on the road," he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Hertanto appreciated the enforcement measures taken by officers because illegal parking often causes traffic jams, especially during lunch hours and during rush hour.

"Officers do need to conduct regular patrols. When there's no supervision, vehicles return to being parked haphazardly," he admitted.
